The Indian men’s hockey team edged out Malaysia 6-2 in their Super 4s match to stay on course to make the Hero Asia Cup 2017 Final at the Moulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium on Thursday.
After suffering two back-to-back loses to Malaysia earlier this year, the Manpreet Singh-led Indian team ensured a well-structured game to demolish the Malaysian defence.
On a sensational win against Malaysia, Indian Team Chief Coach Sjoerd Marijne said,
“The difference between yesterday’s draw against Korea and today is the speed of the match. We controlled the game with good speed from the start and it was a well-structured hockey that I am happy about today.
India now have four points after two games, with a mouth-watering clash against Pakistan coming up on Saturday.
