Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah‘s contribution to Pakistan Hockey cannot go unnoticed. Not only he is taking a keen interest in developing Hockey facilities in the country, he is also developing more stadiums as a part of his sports development plan.
Murad Ali, in his last meeting with the Pakistan Hockey Federation, approved a Rs100 million annual grant and also directed the secretary of finance to include it in the annual budget, so that every year the federation could receive the funds.
Under Murad Ali‘s direction, the Sindh Sports Department has also developed and installed astroturfs at Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Dadu and Sukkur. He is also further building five stadiums in the city in order to provide equal playing facilities to the youth.
He said that with the installation of the new turf national hockey camps, allied hockey activities and tournaments will be organised and by that way hockey will be flourished
The Chief Minister also said, that like cricket, hockey needs to be made commercial. “I’ll help you and support you,” he has assured the Pakistan Hockey federation.
