Having achieved first place finishes at both the Hero Hockey World League Semi-Final in London and the Rabo EuroHockey Championships in Amsterdam, 2017 has been a truly memorable one for the men in Oranje.

The squad selected by Head Coach Max Caldas for the Odisha Hockey World League Final contains a glittering array of extraordinary talent including play-makers Billy Bakker and Robbert Kemperman as well as powerful striker Mirco Pruijser, who finished as top scorer at August’s Rabo EuroHockey Championships to help his team claim defend their continental title in Amsterdam.

They also have a powerful penalty corner weapon in defender Mink van der Weerden, who ranks alongside Argentina’s Gonzalo Peillat as one of the world’s best drag-flickers. On current form the Netherlands will be regarded as one of the favourites to land the Hockey World League title in Bhubaneswar.
